Round wrap
Balcatta Etna 3-0 Hyundai NTC

Balcatta extended their winning run to four games with this victory over the NTC at Grindleford Reserve on Friday night.
The home side who are now on a winning run to four games, went into the match making three changes to their starting lineup from Sunday’s win over Perth SC. Lucy Jerram and Monique Prinsloo came in, with Andrea Bulgaru moving to the bench and Kat Jukic unavailable. Sofija Nokoloska stepped up to the substitutes list.

Ben Anderton’s teenage side welcomed back Ruby Cuthbert to the set-up after her spell in the A-League Women with Brisbane Roar and also handed debuts to Sam Brady and Hannah Reynolds from their U16 squad.
Balcatta hit the front with 23 minutes played as Liana Cook had the time and space to run across to meet Jamie-Lee Gale’s high corner that came in from the right and head home.
It was another corner three minutes from half-time that led to the hosts doubling their advantage. Gale’s played a one-two from the corner on the right which resulted in her crossing for Monique Prinsloo to direct a shot that squirmed into the left-hand side of the net.

The clinching third goal arrived with 10 minutes remaining in the second half. The NTC lost possession playing out from the back around 30 yards from goal in a central position. Gale took over and fed a pass back to Abbey Meakins who then played a one-two with Alyssa van Heruck before dissecting the entire defence with a devastating low pass out to sub Carys Davis who squared a low ball for Cook to sweep home.
Perth RedStar 5-0 Murdoch University Melville
Perth RedStar maintained their status as league leaders with this win over Murdoch University Melville (MUM FC) on Sunday afternoon.
The home side went ahead just after the half-hour mark when Reina Kagami’s shot came back off the left hand post and was initially swept away by the MUM FC defence, but fell centrally outside the box for Sarah Carroll to spray out to Olivia Wood outside her. Wood in turn played the ball on to Caitlin Doeglas who took a touch, turned, and lifted a stunning high shot from the corner of the 18-yard box into the far corner of the net.
It became 2-0 with just under five minutes of the half remaining. Once more Kagami was involved and found Wood with a perfectly weighted pass across towards the back of the box. Her shot was initially repelled by visiting keeper Manon Gebauer, but the ball fell into the path of Renee Leota who swept home with aplomb.
Three minutes into stoppage time at the end of the half, RedStar claimed what would be the crucial game-clinching goal. A throw-in on the right parallel with the 18-yard box fell for Kagami. The visitors got a foot in, but only to propel it on for Doeglas to turn sublimely and hit a low shot into the right-hand corner of the net from around 16 yards.
Eleven minutes into the second half, the champions sent their lead out to 4-0. A sensational through ball on the left was spilled by Gebauer into the feet of Wood who turned Ashley Sebean on the edge of the six-yard box and fired home.
Reina Kagami completed the scoring at the end of a move involving several deflections on way into the net.
Perth SC 5-0 UWA Nedlands

The Azzurri are second, one point better off than Balcatta Etna after dispatching bottom-placed UWA-Nedlands at Dorrien Gardens on Sunday afternoon.
They hit the front with 10 minutes played. A sumptuous double one-two between Charli Wainwright and Daisy McAllister ended with Jess Flannery being found centrally on the edge of the box. The attacker took a touch and cooly hit a shot past Morgan Springer in the UWA-Nedlands goal.
Perth doubled their advantage with 28 minutes on the clock thanks to more impressive play from McAllister that ended with a low finish.

Life got harder for the visitors when goalkeeper Springer was sent off for handling outside the area, and two minutes before the break, it was 3-0. Sam Mathers gained possession from a loose UWA-Nedlands pass to play a first-touch ball through to Ella Lincoln positioned in the centre circle. Lincoln danced into space, guided the ball away from two would-be tacklers outside the box, and guided the ball into the net.
With just under 25 minutes remaining of the action, Wainwright took advantage of having acres of space to run into from the centre of the park and lay a perfect through ball into the stride of substitute Anika Stajcic who advanced into the right-hand edge of the box and clipped a superb shot across into the opposite corner of the goal.

The final goal came with 78 minutes played when Alyssa Kinkaid brought Ella Lincoln down just inside the box and a penalty was awarded. The attacker slotted the ball low down the middle to put the icing on the cake.
